Gust Guard®

I have a very durable car cover that I am convinced could protect my car through a hurricane! Although tough, I have seen winds with high gusts that can make short work of the strong elastic hems. That is why I added this item to my order; in the area I live it definitely pays to have a little extra backing to reduce the chances of the cover coming off. In my opinion it is better to play it safe and have these guys handy.

It's crazy how well these gust guards work! They seem pretty straightforward and it doesn't take much at all to attach them to my car cover. I have already benefited from using them through a couple of strong storms that blew through. I'm not sure if the wind would have blown my cover off without them, but I sure as hell didn't want to find out!

Right away when I received my gust guards I knew that this was what I had been looking for to add to the support of my car cover. The car cover itself really seems like it can withstand some pretty tough and extreme weather conditions but I wanted something a little extra to hold it in place from the base of the cover that was not elastic. This is exactly what these gust guards provided me with.

I noticed that the wind was catching the middle edge of my truck cover, causing it to lift a bit and flop in the wind. Although the elastic hems on the front and back seemed to be holding well, I wanted to keep the edges from lifting. That is where these gust guards came handy. I attached the clamps front to back, ran my security tension cord through the middle grommet and tightened it down. It was been working flawlessly ever since.

I know that I am not going to have to worry about the wind ripping my cover off again! I had it happen one time this past spring and I saw that coveranything carried these gust guards to help counter the wind from lifting the cover off my car. I did just as they state and clamped one on the front, one on the back, cinched it down and now I am good to go! I did a couple of pull tests and the cover seems very secure.

These gust guards are such a simple set up yet they are a cover saver! I ordered a set when I ordered my WeatherFit truck cover, after getting it and putting it on, I can definitely see how well designed the heavy duty clamps are. I especially like the feature that keeps your tension cord from slipping loose. Overall great product.

I have found the gust guard to be a necessary addition to my car cover. The elastic on the WeatherFit cover I purchased really does hold the cover on pretty snug but when we get some stronger winds I would be concerned if I didn't have these as an added back up. They provide that little extra support to keep my cover securely in place.

These are well worth the money, especially if you live in a place that frequently gets high winds! I operate a car shop and I always ensure that these are utilized on all the car and truck covers on my lot. All it takes is one time for the cover to go flying and cause damage. These gust guards are simple but tough and very effective and I definitely recommend them.

So far these gust guards have been pulling their weight. I have been using them on a couple of my covers that I have on the cars outside and have been happy with them. I have seen what can happen in extreme weather situations when not using gust guards. My neighbors car cover blew off and the wind swept it across the street. Luckily no damage was done but if would have hit a driver it could have been a disaster. I like to avoid these situations.

The product was easy to understand and use and although we haven't had a storm like that again so far, its nice reassurance to know that I won't have to worry about it.

I purchased these gust guards along with my car cover so that I would not worry about my cover staying on my car during storms. These heavy duty clamps are no joke! They are pretty strong; I put quite a bit of tension on it when I tightened it with the adjustable tension cords and they didn't budge. They are going to be great!

I live in OKC and the wind seems to always be blowing here and sometimes they get pretty strong. So when I purchased my cover I knew I was going to need the gust guard for an added peace of mind. They are absolutely simple to use and when the teeth clamp on, that cover isn't getting free. The guard is all clamped on and I have not had any issues with the wind carrying my cover away!

The cover I purchased has some pretty strong elastic corners and edges but was no match for the straight line winds that came through overnight. The storm had removed my cover and wrapped it around a tree! Thankfully there was no real damage done but I immediately purchased this gust guard. These gust guards are an absolute must! I put these on just shortly after I they came in and I I have noticed a difference in the security of my cover. Before I purchased these my cover would sometimes get pulled up a bit during extreme weather and with the use of the gust guards I have had no issues with it.

I was hoping that I would be able to find something like this and there it popped up on my way through the checkout process. I added it to my cover order and installed it when I put the cover over my mustang. I live in Kansas so wind always seems to be blowing but some of the gusts can be pretty strong and these gust guards have been working perfectly to help keep my cover on snug.
